- (Answer submitted by CountessDeWinter) The canonical `magic word'. This comes from Colossal Caves Adventure Game (ADVENT), in which the idea is to explore an underground cave with many rooms and to collect the treasures you find there. If you type `xyzzy' at the appropriate time, you can move instantly between two otherwise distant points. If, therefore, you encounter some bit of magic, you might remark on this quite succinctly by saying simply "Xyzzy!" 1/2 point was given for any reference to a computer game. Full credit if identified as a magic word from a computer game.

- Question 8) Jareth, the Goblin King, does some neat tricks with crystal balls at the beginning of Labyrinth. What is the name of the performer doing the tricks?
- This one was a trick question that didn't trick many people. Although David Bowie was Jareth, the crystal ball tricks were performed by Michael Moshen. (Check out the Making of on the DVD. It's GREAT!)
- Question 9) Theme song for The Karate Kid II. Title and singer? (bonus: What else was this singer famous for in the late 70's and early 80's?)
- Glory of Love - Peter Cetera Ok, I learned something new. The bonus wasn't as cut and dried as I though. Peter Cetera was the Lead Singer AND Bass player for Chicago. I didn't know he played bass. ;-)
- Question 10) What happens to Gremlins when they get wet?
- They Multiply. They turn into evil gremlins when they are FED after midnight.
- Bonus Question) Contest 1 was about Danny John-Jules who played in the Sci-Fi Comedy Red Dwarf. Another major "participant" in Labyrinth was also famous for their role in a very popular Sci-Fi television show. Who was it and what was their role in Labyrinth? (Hint, this person did not perform in Labyrinth)
- No one got this one. I had a good guess from someone (Frank Oz) but I don't think he was in any "very popular Sci-Fi television shows". The answer I was looking for was: Cheryl McFadden aka Gates McFadden aka Beverly Crusher. Credited in Labyrinth as Cheryl McFadden, she did choreography for the show. Dancing Doctor indeed!

This contest is related to Contest 4
- Question: Of the 9 members of the "Fellowship of the Ring" which ones stayed in Middle Earth until their death? That is, which did NOT go "over the sea"?

- Aragorn, Pippin, Merry, and Boromir.
- This one was REALLY hard, as it required reading the appendices to LotR. Gandalf, Bilbo, and Frodo went with the elves at the end of Return of the King. Frodo suggests here that Sam will later go also (because he also was a ringbearer for a short time), and this is further confirmed in Appendix B. Appendix B also states that Merry and Pippin died in Middle Earth, and were buried with the kings, and that Legolas built a boat and went over the sea, taking Gimli with him. Boromir of course, died early in The Two Towers, and Aragorn stayed in Middle Earth with Arwen.
